Who is Behind Ataste?

Hi, I’m Laurent, the founder of Ataste. My journey began on the Belgian coast, where I grew up surrounded by food, travel, and hospitality. From working in my grandparents’ restaurant—learning to “never walk around with empty hands”—to discovering the açaí culture in South America, my passion for food and business was born.

As an Industrial Engineer in Automation, I started my career in food processing equipment, working with some of the biggest names in the industry. But my entrepreneurial drive led me to create something meaningful. In 2010, I co-founded Ataste with a clear goal: to make açaí mainstream in Europe.

Since then, we’ve navigated market shifts, food trends, and industry challenges—always staying ahead. Today, Ataste is more than just a brand; it’s a movement toward smarter, more efficient, and healthier foodservice solutions.
