Ataste proudly introduces Michel De Buck, 4 times Ironman!
This year, Michel participated and finished his fourth legendary Ironman contest. On the harsh volcanic island of Lanzarote, Michel swam for 3,8 km followed by a 180 km bike ride and concluded with a marathon (42,2 km) to wrap it all up! The strong gusts of wind and 2551m of elevation were complimentary in this Spanish edition. Not a walk in the park, that much is for sure!
Despited these severe conditions, Michael finished as #254. No small feat if you know no less than 1500 trained athletes show up on the starting grid and 215 never made it accross the finish line. Michael faced these odds and finished in an astounding time of 11 hours 13 mins and 33 secs! Congratulations! We take of our hats for such a result! Earlier, our athlete also finished in the top 10 of the renowned Grand Canyon marathon and put down a great time in the world cup Ironman "World Championship 70.3"!
It's clear we have another winner on the team, representing what we stand for at ataste! Welcome Michel!
